Improving your fitness may be one of the best things you can do for your health. Physical activity can reduce your risk of disease, improve your balance and coordination, help you lose weight and improve your sleep habits and self-esteem.
Of course, the best and easiest way to exercise, and keep exercising is to have fun doing it.
The Wave inline action board (Street Surfer) is the board everyone is talking about. There is no other way to get such an amazing ride on the street. It combines the feeling of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding on 2 wheels.
Born from the skate and surf mecca of Laguna Beach, and melding the motions of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding, The Wave is a first-of-its-kind board that blends the anatomy of all three action sports in one distinctive ride - true Street Surfing!
The twisting motion is great for working out the legs, hips and sides, and carving the turns gets your whole torso in the act. Riding this board will keep your balance and equilibrium sharp and provide mental stimulus to help keep the mind sharp too.
It really provides a good surfing workout without having to trudge down to the beach and hope the surf is up! The Wave mostly resembles the action of a short board, with a sharper turning radius. You can do precision 360's, carve downhill and even ride uphill! It's also very easy to learn (takes only a few minutes usually).
The Wave features front and rear flexible panels that are controlled by a spring-oriented torsion bar Durable - made from hard plastics, solid wheels, and metal parts Extremely grippy rubber footpads - the riders will never slip The deck is 10 inches wide by 33 1/2 inches long - about the length of a longer skateboard The deck sits atop two wheels which are both free to rotate 360 degrees Wheels are 77mm/85A, with ABEC 5 bearings Weighs just over 8 pounds
The Wave board's unique features and benefits include: A two-wheel, 360 degree rotating design, allowing the rider to propel the board forward without touching the ground. Foot platforms attached to a torsion bar, give the rider the ability to tilt for sharp turns, execute precision moves and perform front side and backside 360's. Street Surfers can carve downhill like a snowboarder or rocket uphill, all by slightly bending the knees and twisting at the hips. This body action stimulates the board to move in an "S"-shaped motion that is responsible for continuously propelling The Wave board forward.
It's a fabulous way to get some lateral motion and balance into your workout routine!
HOW TO RIDE:
Place THE WAVE on a very slight downward slope. Place your leading foot in the center of the front platform of the board and position the board so that it is level with the ground. Give a push with your back foot and place that foot in the center of the back platform. Immediately after pushing off, start twisting at your hips. The motion will allow your feet to apply pressure to the board in opposite directions. Once you have the board moving, try using only your back foot to create a fishtail-like back and forth motion or try moving both feet back and forth in the same direction at the same time.
